Hazel began her formal training as a portrait painter in 1994 at the famous Charles H. Cecil Studio in Florence. Having already completed numerous commissions in equestrian and figurative portraiture, her talent was instantly recognised and she became a tutor to the intake of students. This enriching period taught her invaluable skills, leading her to follow in the footsteps of the great Masters who inspire her work — Sargent, Velázquez, Munnings, Constable and Van Dyck.
